Green hydrogen will be the protagonist of climate neutrality
Experts all agree that green hydrogen is one of the most important resources at our disposal to achieve the much sought-after climate neutrality by 2050, just as Europe has planned. Indeed, this ‘clean version’ of hydrogen, which allows energy to be produced without polluting, is now considered an irreplaceable ally in the race for decarbonisation.
After all, green hydrogen, although it does not exist in nature and must be produced by man, can be used in many different sectors, from transport to industry. An advantage not to be underestimated is its ease of storage, an element that played a key role in Europe’s decision to focus on this green energy source.
Italy is also betting on the future of green hydrogen
Interest in the opportunities represented by green hydrogen is also evident from the many patents developed over the past ten years with the aim of expanding the supply chain for this substance. In particular, a study was recently conducted in this regard by two important international institutions, the European Patent Office and the International Energy Agency.
The data collected describe a very positive situation for Italy, which ranks fifth in Europe for the number of patents registered between 2011 and 2020 in the field of production, storage, distribution and use of green hydrogen. Better than our country have done only Germany, France, the Netherlands and Denmark.
The study also underlines Europe’s great interest in this energy source, as it is in this part of the world that the largest number of patents is concentrated.
QOC Solutions, an Italian company specialising in the design and production of quick-release fasteners for the oil and gas sector and beyond, is also ready to have its say on the matter with cutting-edge products, designed to be installed on hydrogen transport pipelines such as our quick-release fasteners with special lip seal.
